Common Thread Coaching Model: A Diagram
This model for Common Thread Coaching illustrates the different stages in the coaching relationship. It also portrays the interconnected, conversational, and emergent aspects of that relationship. It is a circular process, each aspect building on the one before, and culminating in what I call authentic living. It is also a cyclical process, hence the arrows leading from authentic living to conversation and back into the coaching model process; life transforms over time, as do we, along with our intentions, dreams, challenges and concerns. Once this model has been completed, it serves as a template that stands strong over time, either to be used again in another round of coaching sessions, or as a template for self-coaching.
This model is powerfully effective in that it’s fueled through listening and conversation, and empowers connection and inspired action. It is grounded in behavioral, artistic and scientific models of cognitive behavior, poetry and art, linguistic mindfulness, neuroplasticity and quantum possibilities. The tools that emerge from these varied yet connected modalities give this model a flexibility and accessibility that accommodates different learning types, thinking styles, values, and personalities. Within the circular and open design of this model a spaciousness exists that nurtures and sustains personal and professional change and transformation.
