Behind the stress and clutter in our lives is an infinitely spacious place one might call stillness or joy. This is our natural state of being, but we hardly know it because we are caught in a web of attachments to things, worries, and outcomes.

Practical and profoundly simple, this two-day program is designed to give you a direct experience of spaciousness by inviting you to call back what is yours, and let go of what isn’t: to slow down, reflect, release, rebuild…. remember.

Saturday’s Program

What are the key ways you hold on and resist your true nature? Through personal inquiry, guided meditation, group sharing, and a closer look at the role of the fight or flight response, we will explore this question. Stephanie will create a space for you to reflect on and get to know your holding patterns really well!

The afternoon segment will be your time to release the stressful charge that has been building throughout the day. With a simple “personal clearing” technique, Stephanie will show you how to use awareness to clear people, things, and thoughts that keep you stuck. With practical tips on how to support your journey and care for yourself, you will come away feeling lighter, refreshed, and inspired to deepen your experience of spaciousness on Day 2.

Sunday’s program:

Nancy will introduce accessible ways to rebuild thought and language patterns in the morning session. Writing exercises and simple experiential tools will engage and connect you to the spaciousness formed from the previous day’s experiences.

The afternoon session will allow you to remember the vital and profound wisdom within yourself. Through the creation of a personal altar, the spacious spirit of Mindful Intention will emerge. Manifested into a beautiful handcrafted art piece that can be renewed with new intentions, you will be able to remember and connect, again and again, to your innate inner knowing.

FOUND WORDS • FOUND WISDOM: An At-Home Writing Workshop

“I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.”

—Flannery O’Connor

chair & roses

Location: As an antidote to hectic schedules, traffic jams, and dwindling personal ‘downtime,’ I’ve  created Found Words • Found Wisdom as an “at-home” workshop to allow each participant the freedom & luxury to create their own schedule. The entire workshop takes approximately eight hours to complete & is divided into four sections. I recommend that each section be completed within two to three days to keep  the creative flow intact. Material is emailed or shipped. (see Fee)

Overview: The Found Words • Found Wisdom writing workshop focuses on creating a personal ease around  writing, along with a mindfulness of writing’s innate characteristic to bring about insight and personal  wisdom. Incorporating personal stories, examples of prose and poetry, and supporting exercises, you  are guided through different aspects of writing that provide an accessible and informed structure from which you can then explore and expand your own writing practice.

This workshop is suitable for people just beginning to cultivate an interest in writing, and for writers looking for a fresh breath of air to revive an abandoned manuscript or writing practice.

CEUs: Found Words • Found Wisdom is an approved Continuing Education workshop for 8 continuing education units for licensed MFTs and LCSWs. (California Board of Behavioral Sciences, PCE #2704)

Fee: $90—This includes an emailed PDF version of the workshop (to be printed out on your printer), and a certificate of completion for CEUs if applicable. If email is not an option, and you would like me to mail a hard copy of the workshop, an additional $10 printing and shipping fee is required. Materials will be emailed or shipped on clearance of PayPal payment.

Nancy–the Spacious Mind workshop looks fantastic. Wish I could do it with you. I like how you’ve structured it and the topic is just so pertinent and useful. I still treasure the writing I did with you oh so many years ago (11?) in San Miguel during the poetry workshop.
    Love, Dottie (and Peter)
